AND is grateful for generous contributions and support from everyone in our community who has helped keep us afloat over these last 40 years!
ANDTheatre Company’s Mission
To develop and present new theatrical works in fully staged productions that ignite the theatergoer’s mind, heart and imagination; productions that strike out in artistic new directions; To build and sustain a community of theatre artists and their collaborators; To provide that community with artistic and technical resources from inspiration to production; To explore and expand the possibilities of improvisation as a performing skill and as a means of creating scripted works.
The work presented this evening has benefited from AND’s Development Program. Through weekly Open Rehearsals (Anything Goes) and Workshops (Improv to Script) as well as regularly scheduled audience performances (like this one!) we provide an opportunity for work on individual projects including fully scripted plays, monologues, improv, songs, musicals, or cabaret. Anything Goes is open to any artist with an idea and a desire for creative expression. To participate, contact us at ANDTheatreCo@gmail.com.
A note from the Artistic Director
My very first involvement with ANDTheatre Company was in the Eclectics Festival in 2015, in Raphael’s “GPS III: the Road to Conflict”. I was trying to navigate my way through a Boston accent when I found out that not only had he written three “GPS” plays already, but that he’d planned to write more! I thought it was a clever idea for a show and something that I’d never seen before; plays based around a GPS and the people interacting with it. What a unique way to set up a story and give insight not only into what makes us human, but how we interact with the non-human things around us.
Fast forward now nearly a decade and I’m thrilled that ANDTheatre is producing the full show. This has been, as you can tell, a long time coming. As I reach the end of my tenure as AND’s Artistic Director, I can’t imagine a better and more fitting end to this period. These shows really encapsulate what AND is all about: supporting artists from inception to production and I couldn’t be prouder to have gotten to be a part of it. Thank you for being a part of it, too. Now enjoy the show!
