Happily, in my long career, I have been offered a broad range of projects and a chance to think of my art operating on the scale of a 60-foot mural for Lincoln Center Theater, in the space and movement of an animated film as part of a PBS series on Christmas stories or on the tiny stage of a postage stamp. This section contains those three kinds of works as well as examples from my record album covers (when they were BIG!), book covers and my work for institutions, usually in the context of annual reports or special booklets.
The institutional work has sometimes had a particularly exhilarating tension for me because what I was doing was ostensibly dramatizing the “good” side of large corporations, so to be able to covertly bring personal opinion into the complicated questions of how these behemoths affected the whole culture gave the work an almost anarchist energy for me.
