Welcome to the New Year, a new NKBA governance, and our new 2018 Chapter Council. It is with much joy and a dose of humility that I take over the presidency of the Manhattan Chapter. I am grateful for the work of those before me that led the chapter to be a relevant and FUN resource for its members and our industry. NKBA training at KBIS in Orlando, Florida, this year included information on the new national website. Every member can now upload a personal profile. I encourage you to visit NKBA.org and take advantage of this new feature. The show was fantastic, and in addition to all the product, networking, and education, it was my pleasure to see some of our chapter members recognized for their achievements! Congrats to 30U30 honoree Briana Ryan, and to Doris Amsterdam Bachman for receiving a design award. The continuing education, networking, and opportunity to "talk shop" and share ideas during our various chapter events and meetings have been very beneficial to me both professionally and personally. I think, for the most part, we love the work and are fortunate to make our living in an industry that sets trends and standards and affects how we live. If you are a current chapter member, I thank you. If you are not, I encourage you to get involved. Our team is putting together a series of great events for professional growth and personal enrichment for the months ahead.
Upcoming, we have Veronika Miller Eagleson of MODENUS speaking about Blog Tour KBIS, industry trends, and opportunities for the design community. You will receive an announcement soon via email. I hope to see you there!
