Royal Green Appliances, NKBA Manhattan's newest member, recently announced that it is opening a 3,000 sqare foot showroom in April 2018 in the landmarked Sun Building at 280 Broadway, also occupied by the New York City Department of Buildings. Affectionately known in Westchester by the name of its original owner, “Leiberts,” Royal Green has spent the last few years in an acquisition and expansion phase. The 60-year-old company has purchased several other smaller outlets while at the same time expanding its footprint at its base of operations in White Plains, NY.

“We have been exploring different opportunities over the last year or two,” said Rob Satran, one of the owners of Royal Green. “And every time my partners and I circled back to the idea of expansion, New York City always crept into the discussion. Eventually, we just couldn’t ignore it anymore.”

Staying true to the Royal Green ethos, the showroom was built with myriad features focusing exclusively on the trade. There are multiple conference spaces, large and small, open and private for continuing education unit classes, as well as room to take a break and grab a cup of coffee. “We recognize we’re now located in the New York City Department of Buildings.” concluded Stu Royal, president of Royal Green. “What better place for an architect or designer to come hang their hat or meet a client while waiting to file plans next door? We’ve created this showroom for precisely that experience.”
